Oil on canvas painted with a palette knife. Signed in the lower right corner. 12x16 or 17 x 21 with frame. Depicts Parisian Street Scene featuring Moulin Rouge. Vivid colors with bright highlights. Nice example of expressionism, displays nicely. Heavy texture and bright colors draw attention.

Possibly the work of 20th Century American artist Caroline Burnett (1877-1950).
Burnett studied and worked in Paris in the early part of her career, which was late 19th and early 20th century. She was a member of the Societe des Beaux-Arts in Paris and exhibited with the Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1898. (Ref: Who's Who in American Art Vol 1).

There is some question as to the authenticity and attribution of "Burnett" signed paintings widely available online often depicting Paris Street scenes and possibly mass produced. This frame suggests this piece may have been originally sold in the 1970s? This piece has not been authenticated and definitively attributed to Caroline Burnett.
