A wonderful G grade or #2 grade Parker shotgun with a full pistol grip and horn cap excellent engraving with the birds in flight scene on side plates and birds landed on the floor plate. Extremely nice American walnut stock with shield. Very ornate fist-tail release accents this gun. Excellent bores. This Parker shotgun has 30 in. Damascus barrels chambered in 12 gauge black powder. (It is not proofed for smokeless power). It is a grade #2 marked "G" without hammers or ejectors built in 1891. The Damascus barrel is of the Turkish pattern is light but the pattern is visible. No color case hardening remains but the bird scene engraving is intact. The stock needs TLC and there is a broken edge on the toe of the butt-stock where the butt-plate has been filed to match. This looks like a one hundred year old repair. This makes a good survivor 12 ga. for the Parker collector. No sales to California, New Jersey, New York City, or Hawaii. Check local ordinances before bidding. This gun is an antique and no attempt has been made to fire this gun to confirm its mechanical integrity. Nor should this gun be fired without the examination by a qualified gunsmith. Any attempt to fire an antique gun is at the risk of the owner and not consistent with the value of the firearm.
