The original passenger receipt recovered from the S.S. Central America shipwreck for Ansel and Addie Easton, "A. I. Easton & Wife", 4 x 6.75" on US Mail Steamship pre-printed form. Datelined San Francisco, August 20, 1857. "Running in connection with the United States Pacific Mail Steamships." Stained. This is unarguably the most important of the passenger receipts, for the couple that was married the day before boarding, and the wealthiest people on the S.S. Central America. Adeline Easton was the younger sister of D.O. Mills and brothers, California bankers.
