Passenger Receipt for Lima Passenger Ensign Ayulo, First Cabin. Ayulo was part of the Richon party from Lima. Richon was the Belgian Consul from Lima. The group took passage at Aspinwall for New York. Most of the party were lost. Ayulo survived, having been sucked underwater when the ship sank, pulling down many passengers with it, then being lifted to the surface with his life preserver. This is the US Mail Steamship preprinted form datelined at Aspinwall, with ship vignette at left. As usual, there are a number of differing reports of Ayulo's first name.

Provenance: SS Central America Collection
