Indian Agent, Pawnee Agency. 3) John Jordan, Special Agent of Cherokee Nation for Cherokee Strip advertising cover. Addressed to Carys Ferry! 4) 1888 advertising cover for Fairmount Cattle Company in Pawnee. The Fairmount Cattle Co. leased 400,000 acres of land here. The Pawnee post office was only open from 1876 to 1893. Pawnee was the home of Gordon W. Lillie, otherwise known as Pawnee Bill.
