# 331 for 100 shares to Emery & Hodges. Signed by George C Wilde and president (?). Not cancelled. Underground mining vignette with an ore bucket and ore cart. Also three smaller vignettes around the borders. American Bank Note printer. No major flaws (two pin holes, top right corner has slight fold). In 1883 the superintendent was WA Ruff. They owned six patented lodes including the Pelican and Dives. Mine was located on Sherman Mountain in the Griffith mining district three miles from Georgetown. Assays at 100 to 150 ounces of silver per ton. In 1883 there was 200' of shafts, 500' of winzes, 1380' of tunnels and 5000' of drifts in the six lodes. Output to date was $3,500,000. "The property is in good condition for future working." Does this mean it was not actually being worked at this time? [Colorado Mining Directory 1883] Prag Collection
