Lot of 5: Model of pair of Pelton Water Wheel, once displayed at Mechanics Institute, San Francisco, c. 1880s. Includes descriptive piece. A pair of small cast Pelton wheels, one zinc, one brass w/split cups, mounted on an ornate aluminum base and column. This unique lot also includes a small (4-3/4 x 7 inches) paper booklet titled Tangential Water-Wheels, Abner Doble Co, San Francisco, CA, Bulletin No. 5, 1904, 40 pages, as well as invoices to the Doble Co (stamped Paid 2 Jul 1896) and from Union Iron Works dated June 4, 1880. Pelton Wheel model manufacturer unknown but may have been either Doble or Union Iron Works.
