Stock Certificate from the Penn-Breckenridge CMC. Incorporated in Colorado. Located at Breckinridge. Certificate number 2143 issued in 1883 to Geo W. Smyth. Signed by president John J. Ziegler and S. B. Ford. Printed by National Bureau of Engraving, Phila. Size 3.75 by 4 inches. Staining by president's name, etc. Mining vignette of pilgrims and Indians. Raised seal. According to C& L, the company owned 13 claims (1500 x 500 ft. each) 2.5 miles from Breckenridge. Located in 1880, veins 5-20 ft. in width, pay streaks 4-20 inches. Developed by one tunnel 720 feet long "designed to open up the entire property" and 14 shafts (one on each property). [C& L, 1883, pg. 843]
