Lot of two 1870 $1,000 bonds. One has a green $1 George Washington (R144). The other has an orange $1 George Washington Inland Exchange (R69). Both also have 5 cent Washington stamps on the reverse. Signed by the president and secretary. Folds. Pennsylvania Canal (or sometimes Pennsylvania Canal system) refers generally to a complex system of transportation infrastructure improvements including canals, dams, locks, tow paths, aqueducts, and viaducts. The Canal and Works were constructed and assembled over several decades beginning in 1824.
