No. 585, issued to Peter Olson on August 16, 1869 for 2 ½ shares. It was incorporated June 3, 1863 and was located in the Silver Mountain District in Amador County. The printer is identified as Mining & Scientific Press, Print in San Francisco. This stock has a 25c revenue stamp on the left side. It measures 9.95" x 4." There are 3 listing for companies and mines with the name Pennsylvania in the Silver Mountain District. It was first listed in The Mining and Scientific Press, Volume 8, 1864. Listed under the Pennsylvania Co., this company "have struck their ledge and ore about taking out good pay ores." The second appearance that we have found was by Raymond in 1871. He wrote that the Pennsylvania has "shut down for the present though rumor has it, that it is to be hoped more energetic management" (p53).
