6 letters total. There is a great letter stamped "Blood's Despatch" about a stockholder's meeting for the Somerset Smelting and Mining Company in Camden. 1853. This was a Philadelphia local dispatch service which was in service from 1842 to 1862. Five other mailing letters. One is 1857 from Pottsville, "...continue the survey of the tunnel." "I came to the conclusion that it is now very near the vein..." There are three 1849 letters on the "coal property" and developing a tunnel. There is also a corner cover advertising Charles M Wheatley of Phoenixville. Canceled. There are six stamped envelopes from Benton, Arkansas to Pennsylvania. talking about stock certificates, property, deeds, aluminum deposits, etc. Although addressed to Pennsylvania, they seem to address a mine in Arkansas.
