Two stock certificates, one No. 10111 for 10 shares of Pettijohn Pure Products Co., with great vignette of a Native American with the slogan underneath "The Pioneer of 'Em All," and the other No. 82 for 100 shares of the Pettijohn Company, both issued to Louis Muench in 1921, both signed by the companys' President William E. Pettijohn, and the Secretaries. Pettijohn Pure Products Co. was a very early cereal company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which claimed to have formulated its products from American Indian sources. Pettijohn, whose mother was half Mdewakanton Dakota, initially was a successful breakfast-food manufacturer in California. After being swindled, forced to sell his company at a great loss, in 1900 he staged a comeback, announcing his return to the industry. Condition is very fine with light folds, and very light wear.
