c.1923 copy of a photograph by Harris & Ewing of Jackson Barnett and his wife outside the White House. 7 x 10" Jackson Barnett was known as "the World's Richest Indian" because of the rich oil strike on his property in Creek County, Oklahoma. Comes with background information on Barnett. $24 million worth of oil was extracted starting in 1912. Barnett received a 12.5% royalty share, worth between $3 and $4 million. However, due to a head injury when he was younger, and the fact the Barnett couldn't speak English, he was declared legally incompetent and the Creek County court and US Dept. of Interior handled his money. He married Anna Laura Lowe in 1920.
