Five cabinet cards and two smaller photographs taken on the Manitou & Pikes Peak rail line. Includes four from J.G. Heistrand: "352. Above the Saddle House" (low contrast, some soiling); "327. At Minnehaha Falls, M & P.P. Ry." (high contrast); "319. Minnehaha Bridge" (stunning shot, great detail); and "324. Rocky Pass M& P.P. R.R." (another gorgeous shot of train climbing incline, medium contrast). The last cabinet card was taken by C. Casser working out of the Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs: "368. Pikes Peak from Pilot Knob. M& P.P. Ry." (medium contrast, great shot showing more of the scenery). Finally, there is a smaller cabinet card (4.25" x 5.25") showing five workers on the side of the railroad (no photographer, low contrast) and a 5" x 5" mounted photograph showing the railroad and trees with "Pike's Peak or Bust, July-12-1897" written in pen at the bottom. Hiestand's Manitou location is not listed in Mautz, but he was active in the 1890s. (Prag Collection) City: Pikes Peak State: Colorado Date: hwac# 27110
