Issued to A. W. Wright, President of the C. S. & M. Railroad (running between Durand & Bay City). Pictorial of Pere Marquette exploring in a canoe. The F & PM was chartered in 1857 to build a line from Flint to Lake Michigan. As we can see by the map on the reverse of the pass, by 1896 the line ran from Ludington on Lake Michigan to Port Austin on Lake Huron and Detroit on Lake Eire. It also offered steamship service across Lake Michigan to Milwaukee. The pass had been glued into a binder of some sort and the paper is still attache on the right hand side (but does not affect the core of the map). State: New York City: HWAC#: 49074 Date: 1896
