Extremely rare. "San Juan County, Eureka Mining District" (printed on either side of mining vignette). Silverton, Colo. and Chicago, Ills. Inc. in Colorado, February 1880. No. 19, issued for 1 share to Charles Squires in March 1880. Signed by president William Kerfoot and secretary James May. Not cancelled. Black border and print, orange seal with sun beam underprint design, and mining vignette. Folds. Not listed in C&L or Fossett. According to the Silver World (Volume 5, Number 50, June 19, 1880), the company owned the Rob the Ranter Lode at the head of Cement Creek. It shows three veins at the surface and is being worked by JH Fessenden and his crew. They are planning on driving a 100 ft. tunnel. A July 31st, 1880 Silver World article says the tunnel has been created and assays are averaging 2 ounces of gold and 100 ounces of silver. CH Raymond is now foreman.
