Pine Station had an active post office from May 7, 1886, to February 14,1888. In his search for Nevada Postmarks, Gamett has rated this a ‘10’ meaning there are less than three found. This was the later of the two he listed. It is a bold octagon strike with date. It has a fancy target chain cancel. Sent to Booth & Company in Sacramento. Booth and Company (Newton Booth was an entrepreneur and United States Senator) was a large grocery outlet. Has a receiving back stamp. Center discoloration. Very fine! History of Pine Station as a stop on the Eureka and Palisade Railroad included. City:Eureka Co. State:Nevada Date:October 21, 1887
