Lot of 11 items all related to the (now) ghost town of Pioneer, nearby Beatty, NV and the surrounding Bullfrog Mining District. This NV mining era collection includes unused checks from the Bullfrog Bank and Trust Co (c.1905), money order and certificate of deposit receipts (1919 - 1921), 3 split-back postcards of Pioneer including a white border RPC of a fire dated May 7, 1909, and a stock certificate issued by The Consolidated Mayflower Mines Company dated 1956. Note: the Bullfrog Mining District revitalized the NV economy after two-plus decades of depression following the end of the Comstock Lode silver boom in 1880. Silver and gold were discovered in the early 1900s which resulted in a new boom period for the mining towns/encampments of Rhyolite, Pioneer, Beatty and Goldfield. Prosperity was short-lived, however, as the Bullfrog Mining District went into steep decline in 1909 and the Bullfrog post office closed in May of that year.
