Lot of 7. 1) Original Piper's Opera House handbill for "The Red Fox" performance on August 4th, 1888. Presented by James M. Ward and Carrie Clarke Ward. 8.5 x 5.75" Poor condition. 2) Autograph card for Frank Mayo, aka "Davy Crockett." He got his start performing at Maguire's Opera House in the 1860s. He later created the internationally-known character Davy Crockett. Autograph card is 3.75 x 4.5" 3) Booklet, "First Showing! The Amazing Story of Piper's Opera House" by Katharine Hillyer and Katharine Best. 1953. 23pp. 4) Handbill for the Grand Concert at the Odd Fellows Hall in Carson City, 1890. Very rough condition. 5) Three other stage autographs: Anna Dickinson (1877, women's rights lecturer on the Comstock); R.G. Ingersoll (lecturer on religion); and Helena Modjeska (1891, Comstock actress). Many of the pieces come with background information.
