Cancelled 1,000 shares of McKeesport and Younghiogheny Rail Road Co, cert. #1 issued to W.H. Vanderbilt, oldest son of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, businessman and philanthropist. Two raised company seals. Pittsburgh, McKeesport and Youghiogheny Railroad started operations in 1881 and stopped service in 1965. Original line between Youngstown. OH and Pittsburgh, PA opened in 1879. Purchased smaller railroads enabling them to operated north to Youngstown and south to Connellsville. Provided transportation from the steel centers of Pittsburgh to the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway area.
