Cert. #98, issued at New York in 1865 for 5,000 shares to William H. Crump. Signed by John C. Risher as president and Aug. S. Jerome as secretary. Nice vignette of miners working underground with an ore car. Black on creme. Henry Seibert, N.Y. Lith. We could find no specific location for this company's mining operations, but we believe it was a Pennsylvania miner. The company officers lived in Pittsburgh and New York. The company was involved in litigation by 1867 in New York state for not filing it's Annual Report and defaulting on $12,000 in bonds. The company had been organized back in 1848. The company's operations were wound up by 1870. Uncancelled. This is the first time we have seen this certificate.
