Advertising cabinet card for the Platte Canal in Platte Canyon, Colorado. Compliments of The Platte Land Co. (Ltd). Bates & Muhr, Photographers, Taber Block, Denver. The photograph shows a canal winding through foothills in the Rocky Mountains. The reverse of the card has printed information from the company about using irrigation to nourish crops. It was built to irrigate lands near Denver. In June 1883, it was 82 miles long. The company is offering 100,000 acres of land for sale. 6.5 x 4.25" Soiling on right side and foxing.
