FH says this bond is a must for ingot collectors, as several ingots are known (of F. Blake) from the Poorman. Major Silver City mine. Bond no. 369, issued for $100 on Dec. 2nd, 1867. Signed by president Hiram A. Johnson, treasurer H. Wells, and secretary Deater. Not cancelled. Ornate green border, black print and vignette of prospectors sluicing. Printed by Hatch & Co., NY. Poor condition. Heavy toning, large tape repairs, rough edges. 14 x 13.5" Five coupons remaining. Described in great detail by Browne (1868, See pgs. 523-528). It was discovered in the summer of 1865. Raymond (1877) reported that the Poorman and other Owyhee mines suffered because of the failure of the Bank of California. However, the mine had a good body of ore (pg. 226). State: Idaho City: Owyhee County, Silver City Date: 1867
