This unique item is the Port Wine Ledger, a General Store supplying mining companies, and others, from November 26, 1892 to December 28, 1895. Mining companies mentioned include Erie MC, Port Wine MC, Suffolk MC (David Moore), Jack Lloyd & Co, Canada MC, Pioneer MC, B.J. Sammons & Co, Era MC, Lucky Gold Hill MC, Ah Wing MC, and Spencer MC. This is a very interesting and intriguing piece of history. For example, the Ah Wing mining company has multiple entries through the years for whiskey! Also has sales to prominent figures, like David W. Corbett - a Canadian from Nova Scotia who moved to La Port in 1896 with his family, purchasing the Folsom house and was superintendent at the Claybank Mine and foreman at Bellevue Mine; David Moore, who arrived in Sierra County in the late 1850s and owned and operated gold mines, with his brother Richard; and Amos 'Amie' Dubuque, who bought a lot of whiskey in 1893, was released early from Folsom Prison 1899 after serving 2 years for assault with a deadly weapon in 1897, and worked in the Bellevue Mine until his death later that year.
