Portland Terminal Co. was terminal railroad notable for ability to switch activities for Maine Central Railroad and Boston & Maine railroads in cities of Portland, South Portland, and Westbrook in Maine. Came under control of the Boston & Maine Railroad in 1884. In 1907 controlled by New Haven Railroad. Portland Terminal Company was formed in 1911 as part of the New Haven's consolidation of New England transportation facilities. Became a MEC subsidiary while facing financial difficulty in 1914.
