The San Francisco Portola Festival was held October 19 - 23, 1909. It honored Don Gaspar de Portola, the discoverer of San Francisco Bay. It was also a celebration of a city which, just three years earlier, lay in ruins. The festival ran each subsequent year until 1913. These two identical banners measure 18"x 12" and are in near new condition. Also in near new condition is an 18"x 12" 1950's era poster from the famous Calaveras Jumping Frog contest.
