The first postmaster at Imlay was M. A. Bullard. He left somewhat suddenly in February, 1910 for Oregon. A. E. Organ, who had run a general store in Milll City, took over the position and ran the PO with a general store. Organ appears to have left after perhaps a year, and George Copley took over the general store and probably the PO with it by mid 1914. Imlay was not a mining camp. It was a railroad freight division point, originally proposed by the Oregon Short Line in 1906, and later SPRR. Major construction was in 1908, completed in December, 1908. In Feb. 1907 several men from Rosebud stated their intention to open the first saloon in Imlay (Case, Ritchie, Thacker). In 1912, the only saloon was run by J. W. Robinson. This token is probably from Organ, since he made a big deal about the Post Office, and moved his general store to Imlay. Pop in 1990: 4. I doubt any new pieces have been found since.
