Albums containing nearly 200 postal cards sent to the Gosha-Do Company in San Francisco, which was a Japanese bookstore located at 1698 Post Street. Correspondence is dated 1920s and 1930s. Some of it is completely in Japanese. Other cards are coming from people also in Northern California or Western states. Most pieces are addressed to the store; some are addressed to Japan. Includes cards from other Japanese in California enterprises such as The Shin-Nichibei-Hyoron. According to the United States Office for Emergency Management, Office of Alien Property Custodian, "The books and pamphlets found in the stock of Gosha do, a Japanese book store proved of great value to the war effort. Different items from is collection have been used by the Office of War Information the Army Navy and the Office of Strategic Services."
