Rare, compilation of Testimonial of the People's Gratitude for Patriotism during the "Rebellion" from Common Wealth of Mass. to Bugler, David(?) W. Mortimer, Co. E, 2nd Cav. This compilation includes names of people killed in action, "War Record of the Second Massachusetts Cavalry". Very interesting lot. Allegorical vignettes, eagle with swords & spears, canons, flags & more. Signed by Governor William Claflin, & Adj. General. William Claflin (March 6, 1818 – January 5, 1905) was an American politician, industrialist and philanthropist from Massachusetts. He served as the 27th Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1869–1872 and as a member of the United States Congress from 1877–1881. (Wikipedia).
