Framed color lithograph of the Poulopoulos Hat factory in Athens by S. Christides, undated. The factory has the boxes ready for shipping all labeled, with various ports of call. The buildings are also labeled. The Athend observatory is in the background, while the port of Piraeus is at the far right. One art historical described this view as "the new urban world in Greece." It is discussed in Artemis Yagou "On Ages and Aging; Modernity and Evolutionary Theories in 19th c Greece" in Kournal of dress, Body, Culture, Sept 2009. Beautifully framed, 26.5 x 35" overall. Excellent condition. We did not dismantle the frame, as we could not find evidence of any reprints anywhere. It appears very rare. Athens
