Lot of 5, three varieties. 1) No. 100, issued for 2,233,070 shares (!) to the company president, C. Elwell, in 1909. Not cancelled. Orange border, black print, and eagle vignette. 2) No. 192, issued for 500 shares in 1910. Signed by Elwell and secretary Barrett. Stamp cancelled. Black border and print, gold seal, allegorical vignette. 3) Three Voting Trust Certificates, incl. numbers 2 and 3, issued in 1911. Third is unissued. Founded in San Francisco, the company transmitted from a site on 48th Avenue between Noriega and Ortega streets, at the Ocean Beach. It was one of the first major wireless stations in the US. Cyril Frank Elwell (1884- 1963), was a Stanford student who convinced the inventor, Valdemar Poulsen, to license his patents for arc wireless transmission method in the United States to him.
