The first horn is light in color with a machined screw spout and release; it has a machined butt cap engraved "G 69". The horn lacks any other British sovereignty markings. It is well constructed and will dispense about 170 grains of black powder or about 2 drams of powder. Because the charge is measured it is not a priming horn. This horn pre-dates the first World War for artillery use with loose powder and would have charged a light artillery piece or a heavy wall gun. In fine working condition from the UK. The second horn is dark in color and hand made. The spout has a brass screw stop and the plug is a hardwood with hand made nails. It is a USA made frontier horn with a capacity for about a third pound of black powder or a day hunter's horn. In very good condition. Both horns are about 10 in. in length. Please see photos for details.
