Lot of 7. .Cut out of the U.S.S. Maine w/"Remember The Maine". One of America's first battleships, which blew up in Havana Harbor Feb 1898 protecting American interest. It was suspected a Spanish mine was the cause, though never proven and was the trigger for the Spanish-American War. 2. Picture of the U.S.S. Oregon, dispatched to Havana in response to the sinking of the Maine, she chased down the Spanish Admiral Cervera and caused his surrender by firing at long distances at his flag ship. 3.U.S.A., War with Spain - Invalid Pension - Department of the Interior, ca. 1898-1900 Proof Bond ,Black printing on india paper, 7 x 4 Inches, Battleship USS Maine middle under title flanked by American flags. 4. Retail Tax Stamp stub for Liquor dealers #N86685, blank dateline 188_ and ending April 1886.. 5.
