President Fillmore addresses both houses of Congress in Second Session, Thirty Second Congress., Dec7, 1852. 216 pgs. Includes General Land Office report of 1852. maps removed. The text clearly states that the Govt does not want land surveyed unless necessary. They also had severe problems employing qualified people to conduct surveys, a problem that persisted through the 1850s. The maps have been removed and placed into specific sate suites to allow for specific state survey study through time, since these reports are, in essence, about the "westward movement." I.E.; . Outside cover has separated from binding. Inside pages are in good condition . No discussion of the California Gold Rush.
