A typed letter signed by U.S. President Herbert Hoover, on White House stationery. "The White House Washington June 4, 1930." A sympathy letter: "My dear Mrs. Moore: Your telegram received. I am very sorry indeed to learn of the death of your son and extend to you my deepest sympathy in your great sorrow. Yours faithfully, Herbert Hoover." 7" x 9", lightly soiled. Cover included has The White House printed return address, postage stamp and Washington, D.C. 1930 postmark. Herbert Hoover, the 31st president, served from 1929 to 1933, during the first years of the Great Depression.
