Rare original etching by Joseph Lauber after a painting by E. Narjot. Miners are using a pan, a rocker and arastra (primitive mill for grinding ore). Etching is 13 x 8 inches, on a 19 x 14 inch mat. Born in France, Ernest Etienne Narjot came to California in 1849 to join The Gold Rush. Best known for art depicting his life as a forty-niner, his work is on display at many California museums.
