Lot of 2. 1. The first document is a stock certificate of the United States Mining Company. No. 487 is made out to William Baker for 25 shares on 15 December 1866 and signed by company officers, J. Buffington and John I. Hucky. A tied, red, U. S. 25 cent power of attorney, R 48, R 4, revenue stamp is affixed to the lower right side. Both items are in excellent condition. 2. No. 5470 drawn on The Bank of California account of the Empire Mine. Made out to J. B. Stewart by R. W. Graves, Superintendent on 6 May 1868 for $57.00. Two adhesive stamps on left: orange, NV, 2 cent revenue stamp, perf., orange, 2 cent R 15, R 2, U. S., revenue stamp, perf. Cancelled but not tied.
