Vol. 3. No. 9. "The Standard American Magazine for Mining Stock Buyers." "An Independent Monthly Magazine Devoted to Mining and Financial Interests." Edited by Harry J. Newton. Published in Denver. Softcover with stapled binding. 178 pages, 7 x 10". This issue features articles on "Optimism in Arizona," a report from the Tonopah Sun about Tonopah, Goldfield, and Manhattan, as well as articles about a new smelter and railroad in Gilpin, "promising outlook for the mines of San Miguel," "the five important periods of Leadville," "recent milling developments at Cripple Creek," and "a mining round-up in Gunnison County," among other topics. There is also a seven page mini-report of news from mines all across the Western states. The magazine is dominated by text without pictures or diagrams. However, there are many ads for mining companies that feature a photograph or even a map of mining claims. The ads are wonderful. Wear to covers, light toning to pages, but pages are clean.
