This is a collection of 15 projectile points ranging from 1.5 in. to 3 in. in length from the Great Basin. There is only one obsidian point in this grouping however that is significant. The other remaining points are primitive in construction and of varied materials such as basalt, banded chert, black and tan chert, quartz with an iron stain, and mineralized quartz or chalcady. The quartz bi-facials with mineral inclusions deserve further research if specific location for identity is your interest. The obsidian point is thought to be of Elko series architecture 1500-3500 yrs. ago while the rest of this frame may be considerably earlier and even pre-date the projectile point cultures. There is a bone that is shaped and drilled that may be dress ornament or used for medicinal purposes but purely speculation. From the Mary & Moe Wigwam Collection of Fernley, Nevada.
