Inc. in Nevada Aug. 24, 1876. Certificate No. 80, not cancelled. Issued for 500 shares to H.B. Harrab (?) on Oct. 26, 1877 in Eureka. Signed by the company president (R. Rickard) and secretary (R.K. Morrison). Native American vignette at left. Unusual certificate appears to be printed on wax paper. Blue font. Folds and creases. 5.75" x 10.25" According to the 1899 Nevada Surveyor General Report, this company drove a tunnel in 2,360 feet into the west side of Prospect Mountain at the level of Diamond Valley. Their lateral explorations (850 feet below the surface) found gold. According to Lambert Molinelli & Co.'s 1879 history of Eureka, the claim was discovered by Rickard and John Shoenbar during August 1876. and "the stock is owned almost exclusively by the citizens of Eureka, who have quietly and persistently prosecuted the work, feeling assured that, in time, they would be abundantly repaid for their investment."
