Cert. #276, issued for 2,500 shares at Denver in 1896 to M. Garrett and signed by W.H. Jacobs as president and J.A. Munson as secretary. Very attractive certificate with a vignette of a mountain scene with a miner's pick and shovel on each side. We could find no specific information about this company's operations. The company was likely named after the white-tailed ptarmigan, native to Colorado’s subalpine tundra above 11,500 ft elevation. They are also native to Alaska and Canada at high altitudes above the tree line (uplandways.com). The certificate has some fold splits, but still a great certificate. Uncanceled.
