Lot includes four quartz crystal specimens. Crystals are individual. 1) Prismatic clear crystal (approx. 2.5x1.75x3"), rhombohedral, slight iron staining, beautiful 2-facet negative growth imprint, with few sprouts and daughter crystals. Clear at top, turning milky at base. This is a good example of the handedness (left-handed) of quartz - as quartz crystals lack mirror symmetry, this specimen is large enough to show the s-face present at the left side of an r-face;
2) exquisite quartz cluster (5.25x3.25x1.5"), with large and small crystal growth (larges approx. 4.5x1"), Dauphine and rhombohedral, split/inter growth crystal clusters growing non-orientated, larger crystals have sprouting and daughter crystals, black inclusions. Shows negative imprints and double terminations. This is a ideal specimen for any collection;
3 and 4) 2x smaller, beautiful quartz clusters, similar to specimen 2, the first is approx. 1x1x0.5", the second approx. 1x1x1", each showing larger and smaller crystal growths, rhombohedral and Dauphine habits present (showing change of conditions!), split/inter growth crystal clusters growing non-orientated, with most of the crystals showing double termination, with black inclusions. Crystal specimens 3,4,and 5 should each be considered a 'free floating' formation, as it only has one point of connection for nucleation of crystal growth (this is the only fractured/broken surface, with no other showing interference/intergrowth. Natural growth lines evident on all facets. Chunlin Collection.
