This commercially made holster is meant to be a conceal carry quick-draw outfit. There is a commercial model stamp of "806H" but no maker's mark. The holster appears to be for a large frame revolver with a 5 1/2 in. barrel length. A Colt model SAA 1873 or 1878 with a 5.5 in. barrel would likely work. The holster is open to the back with a spring steel retainer at the cylinder and the barrel is captured at the muzzle only. Clearly, designed for a right-hand cross-draw method of deployment. The over the shoulder strap is torn in several places and would need to be replaced to bring this piece of history back to life. In fair to good condition in dark brown cowhide leather. There are slots cut in the strap to secure the holster to the torso when worn. C. 1890's when law enforcement were meant to look like gentlemen. From the Jann Garvis Estate
