(Thorne) Rarity-9. Excellent strike. 1918. Legal sized envelope. Manuscript cc for the Aurora Consolidated Mine. History of the Aurora Consolidated Mill is included. Thorne would actually be a very logical place for an Aurora cover to be sent from. It was the stop on the railroad that Aurora and Lucky Boy would have used, since the railroad had by-passed Hawthorne and created its own little town of Thorne. (Aurora) 1916. Nearly perfect strike (double struck). Aurora spent most of its time in Esmeralda County, but when Mineral County was created in 1911, Aurora found itself there. Corner Cover of the Aurora Consolidated Mines. None other than George Wingfield owned the mine at this time. A history of the mine included.
