The Searchlight-Nipton stage line started back in 1904, linking up with the booming mining town of Searchlight, Nevada. It was a key route for hauling freight and taking folks to nearby towns. Around 1905, they also began running to Nipton, California, around the same time the San Pedro, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake Railroad showed up. But as cars became more popular and the Searchlight mining district shut down, the stage line lost a lot of its importance. By the late 1910s and early 1920s, stagecoach travel in these remote parts of Nevada basically came to an end. This is a RARE postcard showing stage line between Searchlight, Nevada and Nipton, CA, which ran until c1926. Postcard stamp shows it was sent in December of 1928, wishing a Happy New Year. Postcard measures 5.5x3.5".
