Railroad pass issued in 1913 by the San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake RR Co to Mrs. O.A. Smith, wife of T.F.A, Pacific Electric Ry, No. 2559. Signed by Mrs. G.A. Smith on reverse. The line was incorporated in Utah in 1901 and connected the namesake cities through Las Vegas, Nevada. Construction completed in 1905, adopting the name LA&SL in 1916. The official nickname was The Salt Lake Route, which appears on the top of this pass. Informally the line was called The Clark Road" due to the primary motivator for its construction, William Andrews Clark, a mining baron and US Senator from Montana. Much of the right-of-way is still in use by the Union Pacific today.
