These rail sections were recovered from the Yellow Jacket Open Pit Mine in Gold Hill operated by Huston Oil & Minerals in the early 1980's. As ore was conveyed into the mill building, a large magnet was used to remove any iron and steel artifacts. The large rail piece is 31" and is probably from the V&T possibly, from the iconic trestle that spanned the "Glory Hole." The small piece is 29" & probably came from underground workings where mules were used to pull ore cars. State: Nevada City: Date: c1900's
