Includes a beautifully framed reproduction photo of the main street of Wells, Nevada about 1880-1889 with octagonal brass token at the right of the photo. The token reads RRH/ GF/1/DRINK. In the photo, at the far right, is the Railroad House, a 2 story hotel with bar and restaurant. This was essentially a western railroad and cattle town on the far eastern edge of Nevada in the north eastern quarter. It was dug by western digger and metal detectorist Jay Thornton. Jay is known to many collectors, as he is unarguably the premier eastern Nevada "finder" and digger. He may be responsible for the discovery of more than 85% of all known Wells and Deeth area tokens and bottles, as well as railroad artifacts [Holabird Western American Auctions]. Jay's note re this token is attached to the back of the frame. Extensive research on authenticity and possible other Nevada locations (Carlin, Toano), it may have come from. c188-. Rough condition, but unique! City: Wells, Elko State: Nevada Date: HWAC# 99613
