Great Western broadside! Kirchner & Mante, Agents, Oakland, California. Advertising "Rainier," "A Strictly Western Product," from the Seattle Brewing & Malting Company. "There's New Vigor and Strength in Every Drop." Who better to sell this than an attractive cowgirl sitting atop a black horse with a mountain backdrop. The calendar months are printed to either side of her. Copyright 1905 by Seattle Brewing & Malting Company. Measures 21" x 32" in a 27" x 37" frame. Rainier Beer traces its roots back to the Washington Brewery, founded by A.A. Rabbeson in 1854. The Rainier Beer line was started in 1878. In 1883, John Kopp and Andrew Hemrich, founders of the Seattle Brewing & Malting Company, purchased Rabbesons brewery, and with it, the Rainier product. Prohibition caused the company to shut-down in 1916. It reopened in 1933 with different owners. Currently, it is owned by Pabst Brewing Company. [Ref:http://rainierbeer.com/] Burt Collection
