Two excerpts from the book, The Rambler, a two-volume set which contains a series of short papers written by English writer Samuel Johnson. Pages included are pp. 373-378, Numb. 63, Oct. 23, 1750 and pp. 415-420, Numb. 70, Nov. 17, 1750. The articles were originally published from 1750 to 1752. The pages included are undated but appear very old with fountain pen writing on them. Please see photo(s) for condition and more detail.
The Rambler differed from other publications of the time because it was written in elevated prose. The Rambler discussed subjects such as morality, literature, society, politics, and religion. Johnson's writings in The Rambler are considered to be neoclassical. United Kingdom
